a confession from the past.

I haven't posted this yet because I didn't want my face in the news. Its been a few months so I figure I should come clean. While Makenzie had her surgery for her gtube on November 24th. we had to wait over 2 hours for them to get it done.
I was a nervous wreck. I called my mom, sisters, friend, paced back and forth, chatted with MIL/SIL/AUNT and RY.
To occupy our minds we decided to do something a little risky.
+ I wanted a cool story to tell Makenzie so she didn't think I just sat around and worried about her. What kind of mom would that make me?
I saw this abandoned police car.
Ryan tried to hijack it first but couldn't get his leg, let alone his whole body, in it.

So I stepped up to the plate.

As I was climbing into the thing I briefly thought of the sick police child who probably took a donut break from stopping hospital crime and how he would be so upset when he came back to a missing car.
SNOOZE YOU LOSE!
I wanted to bring this beauty back to Makenzie so she could jump in for a joy ride herself.
WE ONLY LIVE ONCE!

I twisted and turned my body in ways I never knew I could before. I squished my fat hips into that tiny clown car. Tried to get my feet under me so I could peddle with my toes. I was bound and determined to come rollin up to Makenzie's room in this sweet ride.

and then it happened. a CHARLEY HORSE in my hip. HELLO. kill me now. for a moment I thought the police child caught me red handed and i was being tazed.
no, it was just my hip spazzing out of control sending shooting pains throughout my whole body.
I thought I would die.

I was squealing for help but no one came. I knew the paparazzi was there because i could hear my picture being taken and laughing. i tried to move but the more i moved the more i got wedged and the sharper the pains got in my hip.

finally. after threatening a life... ryan came.
he had to pry my head out first then yoink my body.

and finally i was free.

oh what a day. it was traumatic in so many ways.
i didn't even get the car rolling before my joy ride was over.
but that didn't stop me from running into my baby girls room and telling her i cruised around in that thing throughout the hospital. i might have even mentioned stealing a couple packs of gum and laughing at some guy that fell down to get extra cool points.

she smiled and was impressed.
my girl is pretty hard core as it is. she was all sorts of drugged up and sporting a new accessory that i know she didn't pay for!

Laughter truly is the best medicine! I am sure that day was made so much easier because you took the time to find some fun, and you are right Kenzie wouldn't have wanted you to just sit, waiting, worrying and not seeing you smile throughout! That in mind, even now she wants the same thing-she knows how you are struggling, who wouldn't be, but I know she LOVES when you 'let loose' and allow yourself to have some fun-and she wants to see that more and more (as do all of 'us')! Thanks for sharing this silly, fun and exciting 'ride' with us...you certainly brought a smile to my day!! :-) Love Em

That's so funny! At first, I thought it was a real police car, until I scrolled down and saw the pics :) My favorite picture if the one of Ryan trying to pull you out, and you look totally stuck :D

I am SO like you. I totally would have squeezed my body into that police car too. I wanted to say thank you for commenting on my blog. I actually found YOU before you found me. I know I had commented a couple times - but it was in the midst of your hospital stay with Makenzie. I'm sure you probably didn't take notice as it was a most stressful time. So I was thrilled when you I saw you comment. I do follow you. I pray for you and I admire you from afar. Please drop in ANYTIME! :) With love from Becky and Ben

I am not going to lie you had me a little freaked out. When I first started reading I just kept say... OMG!! She did not!! I could totally see the Kendra I know going out a stealing a "real" police car just for the thrill of it. I love you and I am glad that there are still some little things in life that make you smile and I can see that you have not lost your sense of humor.. not one bit... not at all.
