Just a light breeze....

yeah yeah... The wind blew. No biggie. They said they might get up to 75 mph.
I mention to Ryan he might want to put away the patio furniture, BBQ and BRAND NEW smoker.
oh how bad could it be?

We decided to expand our backyard. Who needs fences?
That BBQ was seriously already a year old. We needed a new one.
That smoker was a nice early Christmas present but I guess that's what Ryan gets for opening before Christmas. We still have the gate so make sure you knock before you walk in. We liked the car port but it was rather tight so its better to just get rid of the entire thing. Oh and our neighbor so graciously gave us his shed. He decided to lay it in front of our door.

HA. Okay so those 75 mph winds turned into 102 mph winds. HOLY SMOKES. The roads were horrid. Schools and business were closed. Over 10 Semi's were tipped over.
The damage to our place... I'm not complaining. Seriously it could have been so much worse. The poor lady behind us lost her roof! Literally had a roof one second and could see the sky the next. GONE. I missed all the excitement. I was living it up in Idaho. The sun was shining and not a single gust of wind there. I kept getting updates from Ryan and my sisters throughout the day. I was so worried about Harley. The poor girl had a panic attack and decided to hide in a Tupperware container.

By the time I got home apparently things looked "GOOD" compared to the day before. I cant thank God enough for keeping not only my family but everyone else around us safe. I am so sad about the damage but things are just things and replaceable. The things that matter. Our families are fine. Can you believe there were no deaths?!

-- here are just some random pics around the neighborhood and remember these look "good" --

WOW, so sorry for what you had to endure! We got lucky, only lost a shutter and had things tipped over. Our house just happened to be in the right spot I guess, because many of our neighbors had much worse damage. My husband and kids are helping out in the neighborhood today with the clean up. Let me know if you guys need an extra hand. I have 2 boys that are hard workers and a husband that will lend a hand if needed! Much love!

I'm not quite sure how I stumbled upon your blog and you don't know me...but I am so glad that I did. I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl on July 2, 2009..after a few months we began to notice little differences in developement from our other two girls. She wasn't smiling like we thought she should and at 8 months was not even attempting to sit up and were then sent to every pediatric specialist there ever was and performed every test that they could think of..only to find nothing. She continued to have delayed motor skills and developement. She did sit up at 11 months and crawled at 22 months and still doesn't feed herself or crawl. She is our mystery but also our miracle! She truly is so close to heaven and is the sweetest little girl ever. She continues to make progress..just at a slower pace. We still have no idea what is going on with her but could not love her more. When I read your blog it truly touched my heart. I can only imagine the heart break you must feel and it has made me realize how blessed our family is to be able to raise this amazing little girl. It's never easy and I find myself always asking "Why", but I am so thankful that my Heavenly Father has allowed me to be her mom. Your little MaKenzie is so very blessed to have a mom like you and I know that she is watching over you and your family. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks, for sharing your thoughts with others.
